The company was founded in 1908 and was acquired by Litton Industries in 1966. Production of Imperial typewriters ceased as electric models and computers became prevalent. Seller's notes: "I've given the machine a light clean, oil, replaced the ribbon, thoroughly tested it and found everything t'o be working as it should. The only issue is that the plastic cover for the space bar key is missing."
